01.26.10 BOB LENZ and Silverline!
Two great additions to Feed the Peeps as of this week. Bob Lenz and Silverline! Most of you remember Bob lenz from our Creation fest tour or seen him at Sonshine or Lifest. He will be speaking on how to put our faith into action!
Silverline is a band that is very familiar with the Coulee Region. They made multiple appearances in 2008 and 2009 and we welcome them back for their first show in 2010!
01.21.10 Feed the Peeps!
As the economy is slowing down and people are starting to feel helpless we wanted to create an event that would help young people take the faith and Jesus they learn about every week in their local church and create a way for them to put their faith into action.
That is why we created "Feed the Peeps", we love putting on concerts and we know kids like going to them, but we wanted something with "meat" to it, something that the kids could walk away from with more than just a head that is ringing.
We have teamed up with CrossFire Youth Ministries to create a great event! Peace and Coffee is a unique ministry. Every day they provide a hot meal to over 100 people in need, however unlike any other "soup kitchen" in the area. They create an enviorment which builds up the individuals and encourages them to get involved. Nearly 50% of the people who come get a meal are also giving back and serving in this ministry. What a great way to empower a group of people which most in our world just look down on.
I could think of no better ministry to try supporting with this concert than Peace and Coffee. So we are going to have a few contests between chruches to see which church can raise the most food to help the homeless! We will have more to come later but I wanted to share this tid bit of excitement. Ofcourse the kids that come will leave with busted ear drums but, maybe we can give them even more!
05.21.09 Where are we at?
We had a great 2008. FireFlight was a great concert. We had about 200 people at the concert. Bethany's facility was great, sound provided by Interstate Lights and Sound was great, the bands were great. We were a little behind on where we needed to be for attendance but a great time none the less.
What does 2009 look like? We are looking at Creation Fest for 2009 which features Jars of Clay, Thousand Foot Krutch, and others they are working on right now. Right now the cost looks prohibative. Be in prayer that the Lord will bring the donations in to bring this great event to the Coulee Region.
Octane? We hinted at bringing a ministry to the region last year called Octane which would be a high energy worship service targeted at young adults. We have been in contact with an organziation out of Eau Claire called Substance, which is a non-denomination worship service featuring high energy worship music. This fits well with our goal's for Octane and are currently working with them to see how we can bring this to the coulee Region.
We need a facility to host it monthly with a decent sound system. Dates would likely be the 3rd Friday or Saturday night of every month. We will keep you posted as we move forward. If you want more info email me at contact@couleeconcerts.com
02.01.09 Fireflight a month away
It has been a busy couple weeks. The concert plans are progressing nicely. We order our posters tonight and should have the m distributed to local youth groups by next weekend, tickets have been printed and are now for sale. Ticket prices are:
Prior to Feb 26th
$12/individual
$10/Group 10+
Feb 26th or later
$13/individual
$11/Group 10+
$15 at the door
We are getting excited to have thing come together. The biggest help we need right now is getting the word out about the concert. Ways you can help are put it on your facebook, myspace, email your friends, tell them at work, or school. Just get people the knowledge of the concert! Stay tune and we will keep you posted!
Until next time... God Bless

01.15.09 The New Year
OK, so every Friday didn't happen. To be honest, we took a break for the holiday season, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then the New Years Party. What a time! We have also been cleaning up that mountain of debt so... it is not much fun to talk about or blog about. But we are close to having it cleaned up, and time to start moving forward!
March 7th we have another great evening lined up for you! Currently we have nationally known band FireFlight and a regional band named SilverLine who you may have seen play at CrossFire last summer. We are looking for one more local band to close this line up.
Bethany Evangelical Free Church has allowed us to use their building for this concert which helps us keep the costs down, and helps us keep ticket prices down as well!
Sad news that some have asked about is that Skillet will not be joining us this January/Febuary like we were hoping. We were not able to make it happen financially. Sometime Gods answers us by what he does not provide :), and if this is not what he wants right now then we will listen and move through the doors he opens, and accept the doors he leaves closed.
Until next time, Thanks and have a good night! If you want more info email me at contact@couleeconcerts.com
10.31.08 Post Event
Welcome to the Friday Night Blog! Every Friday Night we want to let you know what we are up to and what we have coming!
Creation Fest is now over and what a show! 9 bands, 1,200 fans, giant 2000 square foot stage, 75 new believers came to Christ, 43 came back for prayer and to learn more about their faith, and a grand kick off to Coulee Christian Concerts! What next?
THE BAD NEWS
Put on your bean counter hat. With 1,200 people mostly at $18 a ticket we have about $21,000 which sounds like a lot of money, however Creation Fest The Tour cost $37,000 , it leaves us with a $16,000 loss. So thats the bad news.
THE GOOD NEWS
We are stubborn and our God is good. Will we let $16,000 stop us from bringing more concerts? Not a chance... If you want to help shoot us an email at donations@couleeconcerts.com.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
We need to clean up the debt, then build a bank account back up again, these concerts are expensive. We estimates 3 – 6 months and we are back on track. As we move forward you check here to keep up to date on what is going on. We are limited only by the funds we have to work with and the Lord will open up more funds as he has already done! What an awesome journey we are on!
10.21.08 The Day Before...
Posted by: Rodney Holum

One day before the concert and so much done, yet so much to do. We spent the last two days getting our stage up. It is HUGE, easily the biggest stage I have ever seen. A little surprise while I was walking from the kitchen to the production office was looking at the dressing rooms. Winners of the youth group contest got a chance to decorate the rooms for the bands, and they look AWESOME! The sweet aroma of a sweaty locker room has been replaced by a pleasant smell of fruit and flowers. The plain, dirty walls are now brightly colored with custom designed welcome posters for each bands. The plain benches have been replaced with soft couches, love seats, and chairs. They made the bands feel like the rock stars we know they are!
I am off to bed, big day tomorrow. Please keep praying for us! |
